Lunea and Luca were designed by Hendry Sconovianus while leading design at Literary Universe. The characters and all artwork belong to Literary Universe and are shown here as a portfolio sample.

Lunea, an elf with a star hairpin, and Luca, a boy in navy armor, building a story world together in a cozy writing room full of maps and books.

About

Literary Universe is a platform for writers and readers. It brings writing, worldbuilding, publishing and monetization into one place, and helps authors stay visible, build a community and grow their own IP.

The goal

A platform about story worlds needed characters of its own: a pair that could star in product announcements, social posts and event campaigns. That way Literary Universe has a face people recognize wherever it shows up, instead of yet another app screenshot.

The work

  • Lunea and Luca. Lunea is a cheerful elf with a star hairpin and a magenta robe. Luca is a boy in navy armor with a red star emblem. Their colors come straight from the Literary Universe logo: magenta and blue.
  • A character sheet. Front, side and back views of both, so every new illustration stays on-model.
  • Illustrations and comics. Key visuals like the writing-room scene, plus short four-panel comics about the writing life, like a nervous first draft that ends with "Do you have the next page?"
  • Social content. A LinkedIn carousel about Literary Universe's trip to SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, with Lunea and Luca carrying the story from slide to slide.
  • Product update banners. "Release Updates" visuals that turn feature announcements into small scenes.

What it shows

This is what one character system makes possible. Designed once, Lunea and Luca now carry everything from a product changelog to an international event campaign, and every new post adds to the same recognizable face.
